Final Week of Conservatory - Details for Families and Officers

Despite a summer of displacement, our Conservatory students have thrived in both Texas and Kentucky. As we now approach the final week of Conservatory, we want to ensure that you have all the necessary information to finish the season well. Please read carefully below for details that pertain to the camp where your student is currently placed.

Texas Conservatory (Camp Hoblitzelle)

Thursday, July 10 – Final Student Recital

  • Time: 8:00 PM

  • Location: The Coffield Performing Arts Center

  • Note: There is no overnight housing available on camp for this event. Additionally, there are no planned activities for parents or corps officers on Friday.

  • If you choose to stay through Saturday’s graduation, we suggest finding housing in the Midlothian area and planning your own Friday activities. (Dealey Plaza is a fun historical outing, if you're looking for ideas!)

Saturday, July 12 – Conservatory Graduation

  • Time: 10:30 AM (concludes around 12:30 PM)

  • Location: The Chapel

  • Details: This culminating performance is required for all students. After the performance, students may be checked out from the Rec Hall.

  • Lunch for the Road:

  • Camp Hoblitzelle will provide a boxed lunch for campers and drivers/chaperones heading home.

  • Important: Corps Officers must sign up for these lunches (parents should not complete the form). This will help us avoid waste and duplication.

  • Deadline to Sign Up: Tuesday evening, July 8

  • Lunch Sign-Up Form: [Insert Link Here]

Kentucky-Tennessee Conservatory (Camp Paradise Valley)

Saturday, July 12 – Conservatory Graduation

  • Time: 10:30 AM (doors open at 10:00 AM)

  • Location: CPV Chapel

  • Program Length: Approximately two hours

  • Dress Code: Summer uniform

  • Reception: A reception will follow in the dining room for all delegates and guests

  • After Graduation:

  • Students become the responsibility of their corps leaders or parents immediately following the program.

  • Medications and electronics can be picked up from the chapel office.

  • All other belongings will be packed and left on beds in the cabins:

  • Boys: Cabin 1A

  • Girls: Cabin 5

  • Students who wish to change out of uniform for the drive home may return to their cabins to do so.

Final Reminder: Transportation Home

Please remember that the AOK Music Department is not able to provide transportation home from these Conservatory programs. It is essential that each corps makes arrangements for their own students to be picked up following graduation.

It would also mean the world to our students to have a few friendly and familiar faces from home in the audience to cheer them on!
