Featured Resource: Instrumental Contract
The AOK Instrument Contract is an agreement between the corps and someone to whom an instrument is assigned. The corps and the instrument hold should both have a copy of this agreement. The contract sets certain criteria for instrument possession, and lists the make, model and serial number of the instrument. The document can be customized to fit the criteria established by the corps officer. It can even be used simply to establish an agreement of involvement in corps music and arts activities when there is no corps instrument being used (dancers, pianists, someone who has a personal instrument).
There is great importance in establishing an agreement between the corps and an instrument holder. This ensures that both parties know what is expected of them in regards to their instrument and involvement in the music and arts programs. It is also useful for tracking the corps instruments for the purposes of inventory, and in the event that the instrument becomes lost or stolen.
