Congrats, Dr. Ryan Sharp and Fountain City Brass Band!
Join us in congratulating Dr. Ryan Sharp and Fountain City Brass Band! Dr. Sharp plays soprano cornet in Fountain City. They just competed in the 2017 Brass In Concert Championship against some of the best brass bands in the world, and came in 2nd overall! In addition, Dr. Sharp won best Soprano Cornet overall! Fountain City also won Best Percussion and won all entertainment categories.

The Brass in Concert Championship has been in existence for 37 years, and is widely recognized as the leading brass band entertainment contest in the world. This year it was held in Sage Gateshead in the UK. This is a huge achievement for Fountain City and for Dr. Sharp.
Fountain City Brass Band is considered the leading brass band in the US. Per their website, "Since their first competition in 2004 the Fountain City Brass Band has won six U.S. Open Brass Band Championships and four North American Brass Band Championships. In November of 2009 the Fountain City Brass Band, became the first American band ever, and the first non-UK band in over fifty years, to win a major brass band competition on UK soil at the Scottish Open Brass Band Championships."
The Sharp family are faithful soldiers of the Oklahoma City Citadel Corps. Ryan plays Solo Cornet in the corps band, and Principle Cornet of the Arkansas and Oklahoma Divisional Band. We are blessed to have Ryan Michelle, Cooper, and Josie as a part of the Army Family.
